Unit 4 Mother’s Day

六年级下册 Unit 4 Part A

【设计理念】:《英语课程标准》强调关注学习兴趣,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径,发展学生的综合语言运用能力,培养跨文化交际意识。小学英语教学要符合多元智能理论与儿童智慧教育,为学生创设良好的语言环境,充分利用多媒体电化教学优势,使学生在愉快和自信的情绪中,让学生参与教学,充分发挥他们的想象力、创造力和实践力,培养学生的合作意识,使探究式学习和个性发展得到最大的体验,并培养学生的创新思维和创新能力。通过课堂教学,让课程走向生活,面向儿童的生活世界。在教学活动中尊重学生已有的知识与经验,把教学过程作为师生交往、共同发展的互动过程,利用评价的功能促进师生的共同发展。

【设计思路】:本课的重点在于了解母亲节习俗,能用一般将来时表达母亲节会给自己的母亲带来的惊喜,其中涉及人称代词的宾格应用。首先,教师主要通过学生对不同年份日历中母亲节的感知,让孩子思考并得出结论---母亲节并非具体的一个日期,而是每年五月的第二个星期日,序数词对学生来说已是旧知,故大部分学生可以在教师的引导下得出“the second Sunday of May”这个答案。在英语的教学中,观看完DVD后,让学生思考1-2个问题,这样能达到学生听、说的训练。关于动词后用宾格这一难点在之前的单元中已有逐渐渗透,在本课中可做强化训练处理。教师设计了惊喜爱心卡活动,让学生在中表述“I’ll give her ….”在教授完本课的核心句后,执教教师以视频升华学生对母亲的情感,让学生在触动中写下母亲节会给母亲的惊喜,之后在班上表达,达到写与说的目的。

一、Teaching aims:

1. 语言知识目标:

a. 学习单词:kisslovesurprise, kindcarnation

b. 学习句型:What will you do for your mother?

c. Function: 谈论母亲节的相关信息,表达感恩

2. 语言技能目标:

a. 能用will表述将来要做的事情。

b. 能说出母亲节将要为母亲做的事情。

3. 情感目标:让学生通过学习母亲节这一文化知识,体会母亲的伟大,并学会表达对母亲的爱。

4. 文化意识目标:了解母亲节的由来。

二、Key points and Difficult points:

1. Key points:

a. 学习单词:kisslovesurprise, kind

b. 学习句型:What will you do for your mother?

I’ll .

     c. 能用will表述将来要做的事情。

     d. 了解母亲节习俗。

   2. Difficult points:

     a. 在表述“I’ll give her….”这个句子时,需注意动词后面要用上代词的宾格形式。

     b. 让孩子掌握母亲节是时间是每年5月的第二个星期日,而不是具体的某一天。

     c. 学生对surprise的理解。

四、Teaching steps:

   1. Warm-up: 6分钟左右)

     a. A song.

     b. Review month, festival.

     b. Ask and answer: What day is today?

                     What’s the date today?

                     What will you do tomorrow?

      复习序数词。

2. Presentation: 15分钟左右)

  (1) Leading: 播放母亲节由来的视频。教授“Mother’s Day”的写法。

  (2) Teach ‘When is Mother’s Day?’

     a. 呈现近三年日历,让学生明白母亲节不是固定日期,而是五月的第二个周日。

      Question for students. Is Mother’s Day on May 10th?

       The answer is ‘YES’ or ‘NO’.

     c. Show a calendar of ‘May’ in 2018and 2019. Then ask students to summary the time of Mother’s Day----the second Sunday of May.

  (3) Learn something can be given or can be done on Mother’s Day.

     a. Look at the DVD for twice, and think about 1-2 questions about the dialogue. And write down on student’s books.

     b. The time of ‘Asking Questions’.

                      What will Ben give to his mother?

                      What will Kate give to her mother?

                      What will Ben do for his Mom?

        老师教授并呈现“kiss, cardI love you”。

        老师在PPT中呈现问题:What will Sally do for her mother?

                               It’s a surprise. Can you guess,what is the surprise?

                               She will help her mother do housework.

     c. 教授“surprise”。引出句子“What kind of surprise?She will give her mother a bag/ a skirt/ some flowers. She will say ‘I love you, Mum.’ She will help her mother do housework.

     e. Practice.  操练句型:I’ll give her ...   如:I’ll give her some flowers.

                                              I’ll give her a watch.

                                              I’ll give her a dress.

                Ask and answer.

                Teach students to make a card for mother.

4)语音学习。

3. Extension: 10分钟左右)

  (1) 展示两个学生在爱心卡上写出的“surprise for mum”。

2)播放我孩子给我写的信的朗诵及一组图片,让学生体会跟妈妈一路相处的点点滴滴。升华情感。

     TMy son made a video for me. He’ll give me a video for Mother’s Day. And he will say, “ I love you mum!”

  (3) 展示学生关于节日的将来时小作文。(3篇)

4. Summary1分钟左右)

单词:kiss, love, surprise, kind.

句子:What will you do for your mother?  I’ll give her some flowers. I’ll make a card for her. Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll give her a big kiss, and say, “I love you!”

5.Homework: 1分钟左右)

1.Recite the words and the text.(背诵U4 PartA 单词,课文。)

2.Do the activity book.(做课文配套练习册。)

3.Finish the card for your motherwrite your ‘surprise for mum’.

4.Talk about some festivals, use I’ll... .
